This project started with a conversation with Alex Chatham, whose family business, Chatham, has been making wool camp blankets like these since the 1800s. We talked about my love--or shall I say--my obsession with wool camp blankets. Their designs, durability and versatility are timeless. Our conversation lead to our developing a wool blanket with a classic camp blanket design, using the WM Brown colors as stripes.
The result is a 20 ounce 100% wool blanket with a napped finish. Rugged and versatile, it is meant to go anywhere; road trips, fireside drinks, fall camping trips, or on the end of a bed.
Alex Chatham is an industrial designer turned woolen goods producer from New York. Chatham Manufacturing is the continuation of a 150 year old wool legacy and he is the 5th generation of Chathams making wool blankets. Working with the best quality natural fibers and manufacturing methods, he is relentless in his pursuit of woolen perfection. He is dedicated to preserving American woolen manufacturing methods and maintaining fabric quality at the expense of everything else.
