William Brown was a dairy farmer who owned a large farm in Sullivan County in Upstate New York. Over the years, parts of it were sold off, including a 130-acre parcel, which Matt bought in 2001. In the blogging days of the early aughts, Matt created the William Brown Project, documenting his city/country life–his outdoor pursuits, cooking, collecting, cocktails, style and travel. In 2018, Matt launched the print magazine WM Brown, and in 2022, the Substack newsletter, “The WM Brown Weekly.”

This site is where we share all our new collaborations, events, podcast appearances and other news. Our Substack is where our newsletter, “The WM Brown Weekly,” lives—posts with our favorites in the worlds of style, food & drink, cars & watches, books, hooks & bullets, travel, etc. To subscribe to it and access our archive of newsletters, click here.

Your magazine subscription includes a free three-month introductory Substack subscription. After that, our newsletter is $8 a month or $80 for a year.

The only way to change your address is to login to your account, cancel your current subscription and resubscribe with your new address. Unfortunately, changing your address within your account will not update your subscription address. (We’re really sorry—we know this is inconvenient and we’re trying to get this fixed!) If you have any issues left on your subscription when you cancel, you will be refunded for those issues.

Yes! The Gift Subscription is for one year and includes three issues. The subscription will not renew once the year is up.
